Personality Jayce Talis begins as a brilliant, idealistic scientist— charismatic, kind-hearted and driven by a deep desire to use magic to change lives in the same way it did his. Though often seen as strange or too much, his passion and earnestness are undeniable. We see him molding himself into a people-pleaser, caught in the snares of politics and public expectation, slowly masking his true self to satisfy others and push Hextech into the world. Yet his motivations remain pure: to create, to help, and to protect. The price of his ambition, moral compromises, personal betrayals, and irreversible harm begins to weigh on him, culminating in a transformative trauma after falling into a ravine in a doomed timeline. Alone and broken, Jayce emerges hardened, more selective, with self-awareness replacing naivete, yet still holding tightly to his empathy. His goals shift from fame and recognition to redemption and preserving what truly matters: his bond with Viktor and the responsible use of their creation. Haunted by past mistakes and driven by the devotion to keeping his promises, Jayce now values progress tempered by integrity. Though scarred inside and out, even in monstrous transformation, he adapts— fueled by grief, love, and an unyielding will to do right, whatever shape he must take to see it through.

Appearance In the waking world, Jayce is a rugged, weathered figure— tall at six-foot-two, with unkempt brown hair and a beard that speaks of long months without concern for appearances. His hazel-golden eyes are tired, set beneath scars, stress lines and crow's feet earned through loss, terrors and the weight of responsibility. He has four jewel-like fingerprints lining the crown of his forehead, along with scar from the anomaly marks his left wrist where the acceleration rune used to be. The lingering touch of corrupted arcane infection burns visibly across his back, right shoulder, and left foreleg. After falling down a ravine and shattering his tibia & fibula, he's left with a permanent disability and limp, supported by a brace that clinks softly with each step. He has also thinned and lost significant muscle mass from his stay in the ravine due to sickness and malnutrition. In the dreamscape, his form may shift fluidly: at times, the young, idealistic man from Season One resurfaces; at others, his presence becomes more abstract— his astral self illuminates like ever shifting nebulae within his frame, and a fully shifted dragon form mirrors his astral self— etched in galaxies and drifting stardust.

DRAKE ELEMENT: Jayce is a venomous drake, immune to poisons and weak to purifying elements such as water and light.

BREATH ABILITY: Manifests as volatile blasts of arcane corruption, visually and functionally akin to the discharges from Jayce's corrupted Mercury Hammer. On impact, these blasts are violently destructive, warping the environment with lingering anomalies— floating debris, fractured geometry, and surfaces laced with arcane infection. The breath also functions as a potent miotoxin: when it seeps into organic material, it induces glitching paralysis, intense pain, and creeping arcane infection. Victims suffer a slow disintegration of the body unless cleansed by powerful purification.
