It's refreshing and rich, and he definitely needs a swallow of water afterwards to wash his mouth clean. If he's going to be reading for his lover, he wants his voice to be in good condition.
Humming, thumb pressing lightly at the corner of Jayce's lips, Viktor smiles down at him. ] Oh, dirty thoughts then. Was I not a beautiful sleeper to behold after?

[ Humming as Jayce gets comfortable in the bed next to him, Viktor rubs his hand lower over his chest and toys with one of the buttons. He's so tempted to be naughty, but Jayce really does look tired and he had been the one to clean them up and take Viktor to bed the night before.
So he cracks open the book, licks his thumb, and pages to the first chapter. ] You shouldn't have, I would have given you a lovely lazy morning.
[ jayce makes his expression quite torn! promises of a lovely, lazy morning . . . maybe when they have their own stable hand. ]

[ when he gets to the stables, they're already making a racket and banging at stall doors . . . they'd be so mad at him for sleeping in.
not to mention his job. but it's a nice activity to include in his retirement plan. he catches himself thinking of growing old with this man on a small property, their own horses— greying beards and wrinkled eyes when they smile. so many foals. that is what marriage foretells, anyway, so, he can't be wrong to fantasize.

It's proof of his dedication and patience, and somewhere in the depths of Viktor's mind, shows that he doesn't have to worry about not being the perfect man all the time. If Jayce can love a temperamental gelding, surely he can love a complicated human.
Glancing around to lay eyes on a clock, Viktor draws his left knee up to prop the book against so he'll be free to turn the pages with one hand and caress Jayce's hair with the other. ] Yes, I promise.
[ if viktor was the love of his life, the horse lifestyle was the love of his world. he loved what he did. he loved waking up when it was still dark and loved stepping into the stables to be greeted by whinnies, the placid kindness of the mares and the hotblooded show of the stallions. the sweetness of foals. and now, he has his love in his bed, reading a book to him. there was nothing more he could want.
