[ It's a relief that Jayce doesn't react negatively to Viktor being so seemingly fickle, and it's sweet how he instantly falls back into their same routine of helping each other. Viktor knows that deep lust is lurking beneath the surface for both of them, however, and he's not going to waste time mounting Mercury and turning her in the direction of the estate.
"Home" had meant anywhere they could be together, really. It meant the estate, but in his mind's eye, it was Jayce's cottage and that cozy looking bed where they would spend the night and following morning together. There were parts of their relationship that already bordered on the domestic—working around each other in the stables, bringing the other snacks during late-night brainstorming sessions—but Viktor had never really know what it might be like to have it for real. He can imagine waking up to Jayce, spending the day together, and falling asleep to do it all over again.

The ride back is agonizingly long, and though Viktor wishes he could just hop off the horse and be done with it, they need to take care of their steads. He purposefully stays out of arm's reach of Jayce, sending him flirty looks from the opposite side of the stable, and then when all is said and done, he follows Jayce home without a thought nor care as to who might noticed. ]
